Cow-Share College & Goat-Share University 
A teleseminar series to feature information about the legal and operational requirements to start, maintain or upgrade a cow or goat share operation for farmers and consumers.

Cow/Goat Shares 101 - Basic Legal  & Operations
An introduction into cow-share contracts, set up, pricing and basic operations.
Topics:
Cow/herd/farm share theories and contracts, Variables within a given state, county and township restriction, Operation models that fit the needs of the consumers and providers

Cow/Goat Shares 102 - Intermediate Operations
Discussion of operations refinements for optimum quality and profitability as well as solutions to common problems.
Topics: Pre-requisite: Cow/Goat Shares 101 or prior experience.

Cow/Goat Shares 103 - Advanced Legal & Operations Forum
A lively forum for getting your most important legal and operations questions answered.
Topics: Expanding your market, Partnering, Involving shareholders

Instructors:
Pete Kennedy is an attorney in Sarasota, Florida and is the Vice President, Board of Directors, Farm-to-Consumer Legal Defense Fund. He works on dairy issues, particularly, the right of farmers to distribute raw milk and raw milk products direct to consumers. He has helped two-three farmers get started in cow or goat-share operations each week.
 
Tim Wightman is a lifetime farmer and a founding member of the Farm-to-Consumer Legal Defense Fund board of Directors. He has pioneered CSAs, organic cooperatives, farmers' markets, the Cow-Share program, Farm-Share program and Milk Direct raw milk testing program while living in Northern Wisconsin. Tim consults worldwide with dairy farmers on cow-shares, raw milk safety and direct marketing and is the author of the "Raw Milk Production Handbook".

Interested producers should submit their name and a short bio by October 10th.

Applicants must be able to commit time to attend meetings, review minutes, understand raw milk politics, economics of small & medium sized dairies, and producer and consumer membership issues.  They must be a producer member in good standing with RMAC.

All Board positions come up for re-election every 2 years.
